Brief
In May 2020 a big decision was brewing in the darting world. The BDO (British Darts Organisation) seemed to be in trouble, and the UKDA were poised to take grassroots darts into a bright and clear future through the County Darts system.
Obviously the UKDA is still in its early phase and no guarantee of success, but i was contacted by a friend who is well known in the darts circle asking for a few ideas for a new logo for the UKDA.
Their current logo looked a bit bland (see picture) so it needed something that would stand out, and something for people to remember and easily recognise.
I came up with 4 ideas using the Union Flag colours of blue & red, and styling with darts related shapes (dartboard, flights).
After passing them over to my contact they decided to go with option 1 with just a few minor adjustments.
Once the adjustments were done and agreed, the final design was given over, supplied as png images with transparent backgrounds, and pdfs of all the versions.
A UKDA Brand Guidelines toolkit was also designed (below), detailing how to use the logo and how not to use the logo.
The logo is now in use on the UKDA Twitter & Facebook accounts, as well as their website at ukdartsassociation.com.
